AUCTION
All proceeds from the EMMA International Collaboration online auction will be
used to fund future EMMA events.
The next Auction will be August 1, 2010, in the early afternoon.
The Auction will be held at the Ness Creek Music Festival Site
It could be the most interesting August long weekend
you'll ever have. We're moving the 2010 EMMA auction
up to the EMMA site – the picturesque Ness Creek
Festival grounds near Big River. This gives you the
chance to see where the art was made and talk to
leading craft artists from six countries.
The EMMA Collaboration is as unique as the Craft Art
it produces. We bring together almost 100 of the world's
leading craft artists and send them to an isolated bush
camp. We give them tools and materials and tell them
to work together to create stuff. Then we sell everything at
an auction to pay for the event. This year, just to make things
even more interesting, we're turning off the electricity.
EMMA '10 will have 50 craft artists
from Canada, 35 from the United
States, 5 from the United Kingdom, 4 from
New Zealand, 2 from Romania and 1 from France.
It's a cornucopia of craft skill and artistic excellence.
The EMMA auction is a "must attend" for art and craft lovers. The items for sale are truly "one of a kind" and special – they are the product of collaboration between world-renowned craft artists who might work together only once.
The EMMA Auction will take place on Sunday, August 1 at the Ness Creek Festival site. The gavel goes down at 2:00pm. For those who don't want to drive north, we've got a special EMMA Express Bus leaving from the SCC Gallery (813 Broadway Ave., Saskatoon) at 9:00am and returning after the auction. Tickets are only $30, and include a gourmet lunch, an interpretive talk on the trip up, admission to the auction and great company. Call 306.653.3616 ext. 0 or drop by the Gallery to buy your ticket. Visa and Mastercard accepted.
